The 5.0L V8 also expands into King Ranch and Platinum for the first time in years. However, Ford hasn't officially confirmed any of this yet.
Trim lineups got a trim job, too. The guide shows several lower-volume packages deleted, plus new entry-level equipment groups added on Tremor and Raptor. Here's a complete breakdown of, possibly, what's new for the 2027 Ford F-150.
What's New on the 2027 Ford F-150?
The biggest change is under the hood. The leaked order guide shows the 2.7L V6 EcoBoost deleted entirely and replaced with a new 3.0L V6 EcoBoost as the standard engine on XL, STX, and XLT. The 5.0L V8 is listed as optional on King Ranch and Platinum for the first time, three new paint colors appear, and Tremor and Raptor each gain a new entry-level trim.
Engine Lineup: The 2.7L Is Dead, Long Live the 3.0L
For years, the 2.7L EcoBoost was the volume engine that got most F-150 buyers into a truck. The 3.0L V6 EcoBoost takes its place as the new standard engine on XL, STX, and XLT trims (not available on 122" or 157" wheelbase configurations). It pairs with a new electronic ten-speed automatic transmission, and it appears to align the F-150's base powertrain with the rest of Ford's light-duty lineup.

Here's the one V8 fans will be happy about. The 5.0L V8 is newly optional on King Ranch and Platinum, a spot it hasn't occupied in recent years. It's also standard on the XL 122" wheelbase and remains optional on XLT, Lariat, Tremor, and the STX Lobo package.
For truck buyers who want traditional V8 power without stepping up to a 3.5L EcoBoost or PowerBoost Hybrid, this is the option that's been missing. It doesn't replace the 3.5L EcoBoost as the standard engine on those trims, but it puts a naturally aspirated V8 back on the table for buyers who never wanted a turbocharger in the first place.
Trim Lineup Changes: What Got Cut
The leaked guide streamlines several trims for 2027. If you're used to configuring a specific package, keep this list in mind while it's still unofficial.

STX FX4 is deleted as its own trim. The FX4 Off-Road Package is now available as a standalone option on the base STX instead, so you can still get the off-road hardware without the dedicated trim. The STX Black Appearance Package is also gone.

XLT High is deleted, leaving a streamlined three-tier XLT lineup. Body-color front and rear bumpers are now standard on the mid-level trim, along with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0.

Lariat on the 157" wheelbase is deleted for the base Lariat trim. The Lariat Chrome Appearance Package is now optional on both base Lariat trims.
None of these deletions removes a series entirely. They consolidate overlapping packages into fewer, more clearly differentiated configurations.
New Entry Trims for Tremor and Raptor
Two new entry-level trims give buyers a lower-cost way into trucks that were previously harder to spec down.
A new entry-level Tremor trim joins the existing lineup as a more affordable way in. The front axle with Torsen differential is now a standalone option instead of being bundled only into higher trims, so Tremor buyers can add it without upgrading the whole package.
A new entry-level Raptor trim joins the existing Raptor, Raptor 37, and Raptor R lineup. The 3.5L EcoBoost High Output is standard across the base and mid-level Raptor trims, while the 5.2L Supercharged V8 remains standard on the Raptor R.
Colors, Wheels, and Tech Updates
